Mr. Baofu Zhu | Pharmacology | Research Excellence Award

Guangdong Pharmaceutical University | China

Zhu Baofu, Ph.D., is a professor and master's supervisor specializing in cosmetic science, natural product chemistry, and supramolecular drug delivery. His research primarily focuses on the extraction, separation, structural modification, and functional application of natural active ingredients, with additional expertise in the self-assembly of supramolecular compounds driven by weak intermolecular interactions. He investigates how these self-assembled systems can be engineered for advanced drug delivery and controlled-release applications, contributing to innovation at the interface of pharmacy, cosmetics, and biomaterials. He has published more than 20 SCI-indexed research articles, secured three invention patents, and led ten scientific research projects funded at provincial and ministerial levels. His academic contributions include co-editing four textbooks related to fragrances, flavors, cosmetic efficacy evaluation, and pharmaceutical sciences, as well as participating in the compilation of a national blue book summarizing China’s achievements in cosmetic science research. His work has been recognized through major awards, including a Second-Class Science and Technology Progress Award at the provincial level. Beyond research, he provides academic leadership through editorial service and participation in professional expert committees, contributing significantly to the advancement of cosmetic science and pharmaceutical innovation in China.
