Nisat Taslum Jhumur is a dedicated chemist from the Department of Chemistry at Jahangirnagar University, Dhaka, Bangladesh. She holds both a Master’s and a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, with her specialization in inorganic chemistry. Throughout her academic journey, she has demonstrated strong research capabilities, achieving excellent academic results and actively contributing to the field of coordination and organometallic chemistry. Her Master’s thesis focused on the synthesis, spectroscopic characterization, and liquid crystallinity of various Nickel(II) complexes of substituted benzylidene hydrazides. This work allowed her to gain deep insights into synthesis strategies, spectroscopic methods, and phase transition studies of liquid crystalline compounds. She successfully synthesized and characterized multiple Nickel(II) complexes incorporating different alkoxy, fluoro, chloro, and nitro substituents, many of which exhibited nematic and smectic liquid crystalline phases. This experience strengthened her expertise in handling complex chemical systems and advanced analytical techniques. Beyond academic research, Nisat has also gained industrial exposure through an internship at Gonosasthyo Pharmaceuticals Ltd., where she observed practical applications of chemical principles in pharmaceutical production. Her professional interests span inorganic and coordination chemistry, organometallic compounds, materials chemistry, computational chemistry, organic chemistry, and biochemistry. With a strong academic background, research experience, and industrial training, Nisat aspires to contribute meaningfully to scientific advancements in chemistry while exploring innovative solutions to real-world challenges.
